Action Research

An approach to research that involves:
  • taking action
  • creating knowledge or theory about that action.

Outcomes:
  • action
  • research

It is a cyclical process that involves: 1) planning; 2) taking action and making observations of the impact; 3) evaluating action; and 4) further planning and so on...

It is also collaborative, i.e. members of the system being studied participate in the process.
